Foreign Ship Agency Notification (PKKA)

Filing of the Foreign Ship Agency Notification (PKKA) by the ship agent to KSOP via INAPORTNET before a foreign-flagged vessel arrives at an Indonesian port.

Overview

What is included.

PKKA (Pemberitahuan Keagenan Kapal Asing, the Foreign Ship Agency Notification) is the official notification a ship agent files with the Harbour Master and Port Authority (KSOP) through INAPORTNET before a foreign-flagged vessel arrives at an Indonesian port. It is filed 24-72 hours before ETA, and without an accepted PKKA the vessel does not get permission to enter.

Nusantika acts as ship agent: we prepare the data, file the PKKA, and coordinate KSOP, immigration, customs and quarantine so arrival, cargo operations or crew change run on schedule. PKKA is different from Port Clearance (SPB), the sailing permit issued by the Harbour Master when the vessel departs.

Questions

Frequently asked.

What does PKKA stand for?

PKKA stands for Pemberitahuan Keagenan Kapal Asing (Foreign Ship Agency Notification), the official notification from the ship agent to KSOP before a foreign-flagged vessel arrives at an Indonesian port.

When must PKKA be filed?

It is filed 24-72 hours before ETA through INAPORTNET. We recommend sending the data earlier so there is time to fix any missing documents.

Do foreign cruise ships also need PKKA?

Yes. Foreign vessels calling at Indonesian ports, whether cargo ships, cruise ships or offshore support vessels, are represented by a ship agent who files the PKKA.

What happens if a ship arrives without PKKA?

Without an accepted PKKA the vessel gets no permission to enter, cannot be allocated a berth or anchorage, and activities such as cargo operations or crew change are delayed.

Is PKKA the same as Port Clearance?

No. PKKA is the arrival notification filed before the ship arrives, while Port Clearance (SPB) is the sailing permit issued by the Harbour Master when the ship departs. Both are required and they are different.

How much does PKKA processing cost?

Cost depends on the type of call, the port and the vessel’s activities. Contact us with vessel details and the planned visit for a detailed quotation.
